7 Things I Would Advise My Younger Self

Imagine that you are magically transported back in time and you get the chance to meet face to face with your 15-year old self. What will you tell your younger you?

If it was me, I would tell my younger self 7 things.

1. You will encounter trials, challenges, and hurdles along the way. But those too shall pass.

Stay firm and remember that you do not need other people’s approval to be happy. You are amazing, beautiful and wonderful as you are.

2. Think farther into the future.

In every action, move, and decision you make, remember that there are consequences that may extend far in the future. I know you are carefree and I like that in you. But it wouldn’t hurt to take more caution. Learn from other people especially those that are already living what you want to become in the future.

3. Start saving and investing early.

Time is your greatest asset. Take advantage of it. Learn to save and invest as early as possible.

4. You will find your one true love when you’re 23. Wait and save yourself for him.

I think I will skip “when you’re 23” as I want my younger self to be excited. But I definitely would want her to know that it’s worth waiting for your one true love.

5. Take care of your relationships.

There’s nothing lonelier than having no friends by your side. Don’t take your friends for granted.

6. Keep your faith in God.

When all else fails, just look up. God is and will always be there for you. Pray and be thankful every day.

7. Finally, don’t lose yourself.

There will be people who will judge, ridicule, and look down on you but don’t let their words define you. Practice telling yourself words of affirmation everyday and take refuge from people who love and support you.

    1. Yup! Me too. If only I can advise my younger self, then I would have avoided the mistakes I made in the past. But, oh well, I’m still glad because I learned from them. 🙂
